Deliverance church was founded in 1970. It is a ministry that is vibrant and continually experiences tremendous growth with now over 2000 church congregations in 6 countries. The deliverance church secretariat is currently located in Nairobi, in the KPCU building which is a rented property that it shares with a local church congregation. The apostolic council of Deliverance church lead by the General overseer Bishop Dr Mark have had the desire for the longest time to build a permanent place for the secretariat of the ministry This vision is finally coming to fruition. The monumental achievement will be unveiled On Friday 2nd Dec 2022, which falls on the annual ministry family day and the day that the Genera overseer Bishop Dr Mark brings to us the word of the new year.
2019 Ground Breaking
The Deliverance church ministry began the necessary steps to make the dream become a reality by acquiring land and precisely identifying where the secretariat structure will be built. On 1st December 2018, during the 48th anniversary celebrations, a prophetic move was made by breaking ground. Being a ministry project, the apostolic council intend to build the headquarters without any loans. The Pastors were encouraged to support the building project to complete the massive assignment within 2 years.
Work Started
The building project commenced immediately in order to meet the 2 year deadline set out by the apostolic council. Being a multifaceted ministry we didn’t have to look far for a Project manager and engineer. Rev. Elijah Mwangi of Deliverance Church Nakuru was contracted as the engineer to oversee the entire project. The year 2020 was a particularly interesting year as it is when the covid pandemic struck the entire globe almost causing every aspect of everyday life to come to a complete halt. With that in mind the building project was forced to come to pause until the pandemic passed or was at a level that was safe enough for building to continue.
During the pandemic finances took a strain as churches were closed for almost 6 months, church members and pastors were also affected which lead to the project grinding to a halt and missing the 2 year deadline set. Despite the dispensation that the world was in God was still faithful and the dream of the secretariat was still kept alive.
As the construction took off again as things normalized, it had its fair share of challenges that kept the project engineer on his toes and looking at ways to redeem the time and work with the excellence He Is used to. There were a couple of incidences but nothing that could not be handled. One of the major setbacks that took place was a concrete slab that fell from the right side of the building during the night but by the grace of God no one was injured and it did not affect anything else. With each curve ball that was thrown to try slow down the project Gods grace was sufficient to keep all those involved always on top of the situations. Insights into state of the art building processes were put into place to also speed up the intended delivery time with out compromising on the structural integrity of the building.
Quality Finishing
Having excellence-in mind no expense was spared to ensure the state of the art ministry building stood tall. One of the highlights of the new secretariat headquarters is the 700 seater auditorium on the 4th and 5th floor of the building . In this year the apostolic council have held various meetings on the premises and allowing the senior pastors of the ministry being stake holders to have a look at the rapid progression of the headquarters. Being able to see the building taking shape brings so much pride and ownership the the members as well as the pastors of the ministry. The vision of the apostolic council is for the building to have multiple uses as well as also building up the hotel right next to the secretariat building for recreational uses and to serve as a retreat and conference center for all kinds of meetings. God has truly been faithful to cause His word to come to pass. All roads lead to the annual family day celebrations for the grand opening.
